No one likes a smirker
27 December 2007The only reason I’m comfortable in front of a crowd today is due to forensics – no, not the CSI kind, but the art of speech. And one key success factor in forensics is an acute awareness of body position and outward appearance.
It’s no secret that Bush is an inept public speaker. But Bob Cesca suggests that it isn’t all a matter of words:
His uncomfortably ridiculous smirks and smiles illustrate his inadequacies as a leader: his fugacious attitude; his vacant stature; and, most strikingly, his apparent inability to grasp the reality of his decisions. It’s all right there on the screen — underlined by those tiny baby teeth.

21 December 2007If you can make it through this, it’s worth it … if for no other reason than Ryan Adams’ fine editing stylings with Apple’s iMovie laugh track and the hilarious credits at the end.

Hulu: YouTube without the bad song covers
18 December 2007Everyone should get on the waiting list for Hulu, a joint venture between NBC and a VC firm, which offers on demand content free of charge from major networks – FOX, NBC, Bravo, Sci Fi, Sundance, etc. All you have to put up with are one or two 30-second ads. Look, before you cry foul about the ads, at least you won’t have to watch Rachel Ray pontificate about Dunkin’ Donuts’ sub par coffee.
Plus, you can embed videos from Hulu without worrying about your blog getting shut down. To prove it, I’m going to let you watch a whole episode of Family Guy: from www.hulu.com posted with vodpod And if you really hate commercial television, there’s an open source version out there. I’m not responsible if Rupert Murdoch reaches out from your screen and rips your eyeballs out.
